R4JUST: Webinar on counteracting radicalisation and data protection

The Polish Platform for Homeland Security is hosting a free, two-day webinar on counteracting radicalisation and data protection on June 28-29, 2021. In particular, prison staff, probation officers, prosecutors, judges and lawyers are invited to participate. The event will take place online, in Polish.

The webinar will take the form of a four-hour event, during which – on the first day – issues related to building awareness of counter-radicalisation interventions by the above-mentioned group will be addressed. On the second day, the importance of the protection of personal data by competent authorities in relation to the prevention and combating of crime and serving the sentence will be discussed. Each day there will be a moderated panel discussion with participants to deepen the topics covered. The event agenda can be found here (available in Polish only).

The first day of webinar will be led by Dr Marzena Kordaczuk-Was – the PPHS’s expert on counter-radicalisation, who has many years of experience in this area both in Poland and Europe; leader of the RAN POL Radicalisation Awareness Network Working Group and CEPOL – European Union Agency for Training in Law Enforcement. The second day of webinar will be conducted by Jakub Horn – attorney-at-law of the Polish Platform for Homeland Security, specialising in the area of personal data protection.

The event is organised within the European project R4JUST, in which the PPHS participates as one of the consortium partners. This project is funded by the European Union’s JUSTICE programme (grant agreement number 854047).
