On 21 February 2017, a PPHS expert gave a presentation during a workshop organized by the SYGNAL Association titled “Protection of intellectual property. Selected legal aspects and examples of the best market practices”. The topic of the presentation was Information technology tools supporting the fight against Internet piracy”.
The Sygnał Association works to promote respect for intellectual property, the rights of broadcasters, distributors, and licensors, as well as television program and other multimedia content audiences. It was established in 2001. Currently, it’s members are 21 companies from the media and telecommunication industry.
During the workshop, presentations were also given on the following topics:
conducting preparatory proceedings in cases related to illegal distribution of audio-video works on the Internet – selected practical problems;
protection of nc+ content using the example of the Belfer television series; and
fight against illegal Internet websites that contain pirated content.
