Threats Observatory for the Wielkopolska
What is youth like today? Why is it different from the past? What will it be like in the near future? What should we do to protect young people from the negative consequences of emerging threats? We all ask ourselves these questions and try to find answers to them, proposing the best solutions while also trying to understand a young person’s motives. What is truly crucial, however, is that we do not stop at merely responding to what currently appears to be a problem (which we often analyse and diagnose only in hindsight). Instead, we should strive – by forming coalitions of experts, academics, researchers and practitioners – to take joint action that will enable us to actively prevent situations that may pose real threats in the near future.
By combining our experience, knowledge, resources and commitment to effectively supporting young people in making the right choices, Wielkopolska Police has proposed the creation of an interdisciplinary initiative: the "Threats Observatory for Wielkopolska” project.
With the support of numerous institutions and organisations whose representatives, in response to our invitation, have declared their willingness to work together within this project, we see an opportunity to unite our efforts in a partnership coalition. Our aim is to take action focused on increasingly effective prevention of negative phenomena occurring in youth environments.
