Description

The project demonstrates the need to increase the level of security, law, and order by a more extensive use of the most recent technologies. It is assumed that the related activities will stimulate many of the fields of science involved in the process, from law, through criminalistics and social science, to technologies, and will broaden the limits of interdisciplinary knowledge. The aforementioned objectives are to be achieved largely by increasing the use of dedicated technologies by specific law enforcement agencies and the judiciary, with active involvement of their officers. The project will also involve an analysis of conformance of the Polish laws related to acquisition and analysis of retained data with art. 8 of the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and with art. 49 and 51, in connection with art. 31 (3) of the Polish Constitution

Goals

The objective of the project is to conduct broad technical research on enhancing the security of citizens using legal, criminalistic, and criminological knowledge. It will mostly involve technologies that will provide support to law enforcement agencies, secret services, and the judiciary in their performance of both operational reconnaissance activities and court proceedings (evidence) activities.
