Empowering Security Practitioners in Mental Health Crisis Interventions

Mental health is increasingly becoming the leading health concern, which is also evident in the rising number of police interventions. It is estimated that the British Police officers spend 20-40% of their time responding to mental health related calls and incidents. Hence, it is becoming increasingly more important to learn how to interact with a person in crisis with respect and dignity towards those involved. The Respect to Protect - Training protection and security professionals to ensure dignified and respectful treatment of mental health problems - initiative addresses this urgent need.
