Description

MIRAD intends to develop specific, add-on ideological-centred assessment sheets to the IRS, having in consideration two different extremist typologies (right-wing extremism and Islamist extremism), as well as the role of gender. MIRAD also aims to train practitioners from prison, probation, judicial  and non-governmental organisations via e-Learning and virtual-reality scenarios. In addition, the project also foresees the development of an instrument to assess the trustworthiness and capability of NGOs that work with extremist/radical individuals, which could later be used by prison and probation systems in the EU.

Goals

  • Foster expanded collaboration in the field of disengagement and reintegration programmes between governmental bodies and trustworthy community organisations;
  • Quality training and learning opportunities on the use of the ideological and gendered-specific IRS (Individual Radicalisation Screening);
  • Enhanced productivity of disengagement programmes;
  • Catalyse and promote transversal transition programmes for VETOs (violent extremist and terrorist offenders).

Actions undertaken within the MIRAD project will focus mainly on Right-wing and Islamist extremism with a special consideration of gender-specific dimensions.

Main tasks of the project are: the tool development and training to assess the trustworthiness level of non-governmental organisations, the adaptation of the Individual Radicalisation Screening (IRS) including an ideological-focused component, a mixed-method training approach, and the development of interinstitutional collaboration models and protocols towards effective disengagement and successful social reintegration.

The duration of the project is 18 months starting from 1 January 2022 till the end of December 2023.

PPHS will be participating in all the Work Packages, additionally we are the leader of WP6 which focuses on dissemination, communication and outreach.

    I’ve been working at PPHS since November 2017. For a long time, I was responsible for implementing both international and national security projects. As PPHS developed and the Communication Department was established, I was promoted to a role focused entirely on communication.

    I currently serve as the Communication & Dissemination Manager for EU-funded security projects. My responsibilities also include managing the online channels run by PPHS and supporting the team with ongoing tasks.

    I have a broad set of skills, enabling me to handle a variety of tasks such as content creation (texts, photos, videos), communication and process planning, community and relationship building, as well as managing online platforms.
