Description

A state border is a space where challenges related to the instrumentalisation of migration, cross-border crime, sabotage, and terrorist and hybrid threats converge. Effective border protection today requires not only efficient coordination, rapid situational analysis, and access to reliable data, but also the use of technologies that support surveillance, detection, and operational response.

The BorderSec Conference: Border Management – Emerging Technologies is an event dedicated to solutions that support border protection. It will take place on 24–25 June 2026 in Koszalin. The conference provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between representatives of the Polish Border Guard, cooperating services and agencies, public institutions, and the technology sector.

The focus will be on technologies that increase the effectiveness of operational activities, improve data processing and analysis, and strengthen the ability to counter threats. Particular attention will be given to counter-drone systems, solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, IoT sensors used in perimeter security, biometrics, and platforms for securing data and verifying its authenticity.

The aim of the conference is to jointly analyse current challenges related to border protection and to present technologies that support operational effectiveness, information security, and the development of modern capabilities within the services.

PPHS’s role

The Polish Platform for Homeland Security is co-organising the event together with the Border Guard Academy in Koszalin. The PPHS supports the preparation of the conference, including cooperation with technology and institutional partners, communication with participants, and organisational activities related to the delivery of the event.

Goals

The main objectives of the conference include:

  • Analysing current challenges related to border protection and border management.
  • Presenting technologies that support surveillance, detection, data analysis, and response.
  • Exchanging experience between services, public administration, experts, and the technology sector.
  • Strengthening cooperation to enable the more effective use of new solutions in operational activities.
