PREVENT: Online final event

The PREVENT final event has enabled to present final results of the project, share knowledge and analysis of security needs in public transport.

The PREVENT project (“Procurements of innovative, advanced systems to support security in public transport”) was financed by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme. The main purpose of the project was to provide the suitable technology for early detection of potential threats, tracking of detected persons and coordination of the responses of the security services.

The Consortium developed security scenarios covered key security issues and included an identification urgent needs in the area of innovations and technologies, which implementation will foster a coordination of a security system for public transport (both for public transport operators, LEAs and public authorities). Now, as PREVENT comes to an end and PREVENT 2 will start, the project partners and public buyers will use a pre-commercial procurement approach to develop cutting-edge tailored security technologies.

Due to the ongoing pandemic crisis, the PREVENT final event took place online. The event was open to anyone interested in learning about the innovative research and solutions for improving security in public transport networks. The partners have discussed security challenges and perspectives at European level, along with the project findings and expectations for the future.
