2025 has only just started, yet the Polish Platform for Homeland Security (PPHS) is already working at full capacity. This year will be filled with new challenges and ambitious undertakings, but it also marks an exceptional milestone: we are officially launching celebrations of PPHS’s 20th anniversary!
In 2005, there was an agreement between the police, universities, and research institutes to establish the Polish Platform for Homeland Security. The primary aim was, above all, to support the modernisation of the Polish law enforcement agencies. Since then, the world – and especially the security landscape – has changed dramatically. PPHS continually strives to rise to these challenges, adapting to the needs and expectations of stakeholders both in Poland and, more recently, abroad.
Over the past two decades, our organisation has undergone intensive development and emerged as a key player in the field of civil security – recognised and valued not only in Poland but also across Europe. Over the years, we joined more than 60 research and development projects, nationally and internationally, coordinating five. Through 2025, we will soon launch further initiatives, building from continued growth and productivity in 2024.
Throughout the 20 years, PPHS has trained tens of thousands of people, collaborating with various communities and prioritising capacity and capability improvements of personnel in the internal security sector. Through these engagements, we have organised dozens of conferences, workshops, and expert meetings, and our communications portfolio already includes hundreds of materials that help build knowledge and skills. It is impossible to count all the outcomes of our work – it represents a vast wealth of experience that we draw upon and wish to share.
We don’t share this to boast, only to illustrate the scale of growth and to mark the achievement as the collective success of the founding institutions and each individual who has participated and contributed to the positive impact!
Strategic discussions at the beginning of the year allowed us to set new, ambitious goals for 2025.
To mark PPHS’s 20th anniversary, we are preparing a series of actions and publications under the strapline “Connections Matter,” showcasing our work and illustrating the wide range of topics we cover. Through these engagements, we aim to highlight the key thematic areas in which we specialise, the fantastic achievements of our experts and partners, and to demonstrate how we transform our ideas into concrete solutions.
We constantly seek new forms of collaboration and development – both in the context of research projects and practical implementations – and the anniversary is not just a time for reflecting on and summarising our achievements but, above all, an occasion to look to the future.
We are facing many exciting changes and opportunities for growth, including new technologies, integrated security solutions, and even broader cooperation with national and international partners. All of this enables us to set ever-more ambitious goals.
We invite you to follow our activities during this special anniversary year. The publications scheduled for the coming months will give you valuable insight into our achievements, mission, and the values guiding us. We encourage all those interested to:
Stay with us and celebrate 20 years of PPHS’s operations. The next chapter awaits, and it promises to be filled with significant initiatives and new successes in the civil security domain.
Dołączyłem do Platformy w listopadzie 2017 roku.
I’ve been working at PPHS since November 2017. For a long time, I was responsible for implementing both international and national security projects. As PPHS developed and the Communication Department was established, I was promoted to a role focused entirely on communication.
I currently serve as the Communication & Dissemination Manager for EU-funded security projects. My responsibilities also include managing the online channels run by PPHS and supporting the team with ongoing tasks.
I have a broad set of skills, enabling me to handle a variety of tasks such as content creation (texts, photos, videos), communication and process planning, community and relationship building, as well as managing online platforms.
