The emergence of advanced language processing technologies is increasingly recognised as a crucial factor in enhancing Europe's defence capabilities, particularly in facilitating improved communication, intelligence sharing, and operational collaboration among multinational military forces.
The recently launched project, LINGUARISE-DC (Language Innovations: Nimble, Guided, User-friendly, Agile and Robust Solutions Eliminating Defence Challenges), marks a transformative initiative aimed at addressing the urgent need for advanced language processing within the European defence sector. By harnessing state-of-the-art Human Language Technologies (HLT), LINGUARISE-DC seeks to significantly improve communication efficiency, intelligence collection, and collaborative efforts within ad-hoc military coalitions, thus strengthening the effectiveness of EU-led missions.
Some of the key partners from the LINGUARISE-DC consortium—SATWAYS, PPHS, INOV, STAM, and ITTI—actively participated in the EDF Info Days 2025, held in Brussels on 2–3 April. This prestigious event, organised by the European Commission, brought together defence stakeholders, innovators, and industry leaders to discuss the latest technological advancements, explore funding opportunities and strategic partnerships under the European Defence Fund (EDF) 2025.
LINGUARISE-DC used the event to engage directly with newly identified and influential stakeholders from across Europe, whose involvement is now recognised as essential for ensuring continuous project feedback, advisory support, and the validation of developed solutions.
Participants engaged in insightful sessions covering a broad range of innovative defence technologies, including the application of advanced natural language processing (NLP) and AI-driven solutions. The event encouraged discussions about strategic collaborations, highlighting the importance of forming robust consortia to address the diverse needs identified within the European Defence Fund calls.
Overall, the EDF Info Days 2025 underscored the critical role of innovation and cooperative efforts in strengthening Europe's defence infrastructure and capabilities, paving the way for future strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing security and operational effectiveness across the continent. Further details about the LINGUARISE-DC project and its developments will be shared in the coming months.

I’ve been working at PPHS since November 2017. For a long time, I was responsible for implementing both international and national security projects. As PPHS developed and the Communication Department was established, I was promoted to a role focused entirely on communication.
I currently serve as the Communication & Dissemination Manager for EU-funded security projects. My responsibilities also include managing the online channels run by PPHS and supporting the team with ongoing tasks.
I have a broad set of skills, enabling me to handle a variety of tasks such as content creation (texts, photos, videos), communication and process planning, community and relationship building, as well as managing online platforms.
