The Final Event and 2nd International Policy & Practitioners Forum of the INDEED project convened a distinguished group of specialists, agencies, leading experts, evaluators, policymakers, and representatives of key EU institutions and EC-supported projects. More than 30 organisations participated, including:
- the European Commission Directorate-General for Home Affairs,
- the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact's Working Group on Resource Mobilization, Monitoring, and Evaluation (RMME WG),
- Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE),
- the European Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN),
- Counter-Terrorism Centre in the Polish Internal Security Agency,
- the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT),
- and the Swedish Centre for Preventing Violent Extremism (CVE).
The event featured 12 thematic sessions with over 45 speakers, covering critical issues, emerging trends, and new horizons in evidence-based policy, practice, and evaluation across the P/CVE, de-radicalisation, and crime prevention sectors. The key topics addressed included:
- Critical issues, frontiers, and emerging trends in evidence-based policy, practice, and evaluation in P/CVE, de-radicalisation, and crime prevention;
- Building the 'infrastructure' for evaluation, learning, and continuous improvement;
- Designing evidence-based initiatives with evaluation in mind – the INDEED approach and tools.
Presentations and recordings from the event will soon be available on the project’s website.
The event provided a valuable platform for professionals and experts to share knowledge and experiences aimed at enhancing policies and practices in preventing violent extremism and de-radicalisation. It also served as a key opportunity to showcase the outcomes of the INDEED project, which focuses on fostering a culture of evaluation and delivering tools designed to have a lasting impact beyond the project's completion.
The event's objective was not only to mark the conclusion of the project but also to highlight its significant outcomes, which will provide essential resources for future initiatives in these fields.
The aim of the event was not only to conclude the project, but above all to present its key results, which can provide a valuable basis for future activities in this area, including the newly launched EU Knowledge Hub on prevention of radicalisation.
The Polish Platform for Homeland Security coordinated the project and organised the Final Event in Warsaw. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in the organisation, the participants, and especially the speakers.
