We are launching a new project with partners from 6 European countries to prevent radicalisation while supporting successful inclusion and integration of refugees and asylum seekers in Europe. It is a law enforcement, community, and training approach to preventing radicalisation and ensure refugees’ successful integration.

IN2PREV aims to broadly respond to the needs of NGOs and LEAs professionals working with refugees and asylum seekers in European host and transit countries, intending to prevent radicalisation through successful inclusion and integration. Innovative education will be provided to the institutions involved in order to strengthen their ability to prevent radicalization and violent extremism (P/CVE) among refugee populations. The process aims to increase the importance of professionals’ crucial involvement in this field.

The project will focus its efforts on the development, validation, and implementation of forward-thinking and reliable training programmes, thus meeting the priority of “Improving the availability of high-quality learning opportunities for adults”.

The programmes include courses for trainers concerning:

  • preventing and identifying vulnerability risk factors to radicalisation on refugees and asylum seekers,
  • course on facilitating refugees and asylum seekers integration through mentoring.

IN2PREV will also address the fundamental priority of “Inclusion and diversity in all fields of adult education, training, youth and sport” by implementing a digitalised approach and conducting needs assessment that will inform the development of the training programmes. Another priority is “Common values, civic engagement and participation”. This will be achieved by promoting common European values, such as equality, the principles of unity and diversity, as well as increasing the level of integration and participation of refugees and asylum seekers in society.

In addition, the tools created by IN2PREV will promote the development of “social and intercultural competences” and “critical thinking”, which are key skills for working with refugees and asylum seekers and screening for vulnerability risks to radicalisation.
