The i-LEAD project team recently organised the Research Day 2021, which ran online on 25th March 2021. The event was organised in association with the Europol Innovation Lab – PPHS was the host of the meeting; responsible for both technical and organisational matters.
The i-LEAD Research Day complemented the series of 5 online meetings dedicated to Industry in October 2020. The event aimed to review the cross-cutting technologies relevant to all of the crime domains i-LEAD reviews, specifically, the areas connected to the Practitioner Workshops from 2019/2020. Following the event, the presentations that could be shared were compiled into a report.

Over 320 people registered to participate in the meeting. The research projects, technology concepts and ideas presented work directly to LEAs, members of Industry and academia.
The event provided an opportunity for dialogue, and a dedicated Q&A accompanied the session with the goal of covering the most pertinent topics. Among the presenters were representatives of 9 Research Initiatives. Additionally, a ‘Round Table session’ was organised, in which took part 5 participants, such as the R&D projects, European Agencies and private companies.
