We collaborated with the General Police Headquarters and the European Union’s National Contact Point for Research Programs to organize an informational meeting on the EU Program – Horizon Europe. The event took place on July 6th and 7th, 2022.

Over 40 representatives from Poland’s uniformed services, including Police Schools, the Internal Security Agency, and the Border Guard, attended the meeting. It was the second event of its kind organized by PPHS. The first focused on the practical aspects of the Horizon 2020 Program.

During the meeting, National Contact Point experts discussed the following topics:

  • Horizon Europe – its structure, rules of participation and looking for partners.
  • Research directions and objectives of the Cluster 3: Civil security for society.
  • Practical aspects of Gender Equality Plans in the context of the Horizon Europe.

The presence of National Contact Point representatives provided an opportunity to ask questions and receive all relevant information about European project implementation.

During this meeting, a speech was given by the Head of the Fundraising Section, who is part of the Public Procurement and Supporting Funds Department of the General Police Headquarters’ Financial Bureau. His presentation provided an opportunity to share project-related information and experiences, as well as to highlight problems and errors encountered during project implementation, including reporting to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

Representatives from PPHS shared their experiences in implementing national and European projects such as CYCLOPES, i-LEAD, INDEED, PARTICIPATION, ENLETS, R4JUST. Current and planned activities that may be of interest to LEAs were also presented.

An interactive session on LEAs’ experiences with European projects was part of this initiative. This allowed participants to share their observations, opinions on the importance of projects for institutions, and to present the lessons learned. It was also an opportunity to share more information about good practices and areas that need to be improved.

The event provided an opportunity for networking. Participants valued the opportunity to gain practical skills related to both new perspectives on project financing and project implementation.
