Progress is both, an opportunity and a new challenge. Crypto assets are a great example. They can help us in some areas, but in others, they pose a serious threat by facilitating cybercrime. This challenge is the main topic of an upcoming event in Zagreb.
In a rapidly changing world, technology leads the way. The rise of cryptocurrencies was a revolution that brought new opportunities as well as risks. LEAs face now new challenges such as:
To address those challenges, professionals need to exchange experiences and find the best solutions. That is the purpose of Joint Live Exercises (JLE) organized within the CYCLOPES project by the Polish Platform for Homeland Security (PPHS).
CYCLOPES is an EU-funded initiative that aims to establish a network of different stakeholders across Europe, with a wide range of expertise in the field of fighting cybercrime. To complete this task, it organises yearly JLE events that are dedicated to a specific thematic topic.
Currently, the project is focusing on cryptocurrency as a facilitator of cybercrime and is compiling a list of relevant technologies and research actions dedicated to addressing such issues from the elicited gaps and needs. To complement these efforts, the JLEs provide a tangible output for LEAs – offering a dedicated event that will allow officers to interact with several solutions during a free physical meeting.
This year’s event is taking place at the Headquarters of the Zagreb Police Administration, and Croatian Police is kindly hosting it. Between the 18th and 20th of April 2023, participants will be able to meet and listen to professionals from ENLETS and EUROPOL, and also practitioners from across Europe. JLE is a great opportunity to test and interact with leading European solutions that support law enforcement agencies in tackling the rising challenges of crimes connected with various crypto assets. To complement the JLE, the CYCYLOPES project will host online presentations.

Dołączyłem do Platformy w listopadzie 2017 roku.
I’ve been working at PPHS since November 2017. For a long time, I was responsible for implementing both international and national security projects. As PPHS developed and the Communication Department was established, I was promoted to a role focused entirely on communication.
I currently serve as the Communication & Dissemination Manager for EU-funded security projects. My responsibilities also include managing the online channels run by PPHS and supporting the team with ongoing tasks.
I have a broad set of skills, enabling me to handle a variety of tasks such as content creation (texts, photos, videos), communication and process planning, community and relationship building, as well as managing online platforms.
