In May and June 2022, PPHS organised several workshops “Combating peer violence in school – Good practices and tested solutions.” The workshops ran at the School and Kindergarten Complex in Jeziorki, close to Poznan, Poland. The courses were addressed to pupils in the 2nd and 4th grades of primary school.
The meetings aimed to leverage awareness about peer violence, and its mechanisms. The goal was to provide skills for recognising violence in school and suitable approaches for how to react. Pupils learned to be assertive and empathetic whilst gaining increasing self-confidence and belief in the methods.
It was encouraging to see kids actively involved in the classes and were very open in sharing their observations and opinions.
